Biological bases to control of Lygus rugulipennis Popp. on lupin
1994
Gorski, R. (Akademia Rolnicza, Poznan (Poland))
The observations were carried out in 1990-92. Bardo, Emir and Piast variety were used for observation of dynamic population of Lygus rugulipennis Popp. Three and six examples of the pest were released to each single plant covered with net to determine the level of the injury. It was observed that the feeding of 6 individuals on one plant decreased the mean number of pods, seeds, seed in pod, weight of 1000 seeds and seeds of yield. It was found that three insects per one lupin plant made some injury to the pods and seeds but did not influence the weight of 1000 seeds significantly. The best time for controlling the pest is appearance of the adult bugs of summer generation
