The investigations were conducted on 10 lentil cultivars during the 1987/88 crop season under Peshawar conditions. Among cultivars the earliest maturity was observed in variety LxP (138.50 days), while American-I took maximum days (146.75 days) to mature. Maximum number of grains/pod were recorded in PAK-12 and Precoz (1.75). Maximum 1000-grain weight was observed in American-II (50.15 gms) followed by LxP (46.31 gms). The highest grain yield per plant and per hectare was recorded from LxP i.e 7.07 gms and 565.6 kg, respectively. Cultivar LxP with better economical characteristics is recommended for cultivation
