The valuable characteristics of lambs pelts features are prevailing in Karakul of Botosani sheep breed. The HbAHbB heterozygote lambs stand out very significant of the HbAHbB homozygote lambs, under the morpho-productive aspect; the superior characteristics of the lambs pelts features associate more with the HbAHbB heterozygotes than with HbAHbB homozygotes, the inferior characteristics incidence of the lambs pelts features being lower or, sometimes, null in HbAHbB heterozygotes comparatively with HbBHbB homozygotes. Generally, correlations among lambs pelts features are very strong, but they are more intense and more significant in HbBHbB homozygotes than in HbAHbB heterozygotes. The hemoglobine genotypes in correlation with lambs pelts features could be used as genetic markers in selection, improvement and exploitation technologies of sheep for lambs pelts production.
