A programme system called GALATI vitis which is the result of the cooperation between specialists from Slovakia and Hungary is described. The programme system is available in 3 versions: "Single user", "Bio" and "Service" and is aimed at the optimization of chemical protection against the grape-vine disease. With the help of the results achieved in 1992-1993 by this system of prognosis it was possible to save approx. 40-50 % of standard-use fungicides.
