Surgical removal of granulosa cell tumours in mare: A case report

Right unilateral ovariectomy was performed on a six year old thoroughbred mare affected with enlarge ovarian mass. Surgical procedure was performed via right flank incision on lateral recumbency under general anesthesia. The affected ovary was 18 cm in diameter with multiple cysts revealed on cross section. The operation lasted 1.5 hr. and the animal recovered within one hour, post operative care was carried out for one week and no complication was observed.
