Studies of prevalence of canine heartworm infestation of pet dogs in Samut-Prakarn Province [Thailand]

Prevalence of canine heartworm in 147 blood samples of pet dogs from Samut-Prakarn province was studied with Modified Knott's technique. 37 samples (25.17 %) were found Microfilaria of Dirofilaria immitis. No clinical signs were found in any dogs. The infected dogs were at the age of 2-5 years and the male population was found to be more infected.
