Compositions of dog food formula were partially defatted undersized peanuts which were ground to have the particle size smaller than 425 micron, glucose syrup, soybean meal, cassava flour, gelatin, dicalciumphosphate as mineral source, cetric acid for adjusting pH about 2 to 5, beef flavor and other ingredients as the following: 50.02, 24.04, 12.8, 2.41, 2.74, 3.74, 0.1 and 1.74 % respectively. All the ingredients were mixed, formed and cut by using forming and cutting machine which was adapted from meat grinder, then dried at 70 deg C for 90-120 minutes until the moisture content and water activity of finished products were 15 % and 0.75. Finished products met the nutritional requirements of dogs and were safe. The result of storage test of products that were packed in aluminium foil and polypropylene bags at ambient temperature (about 29.1 deg C) showed that ones packed in polypropylene and aluminium foil bags could be stored at least 2 and 3 months, respectively. The short shelf life of the products was due to the peroxide values which were over 10 meq/Kg fat and produced rancidity in the products. Testing the product with 124 dogs and interviewing 41 dog-owners of product attributes, acceptability and willing to buy found that 59.7 % of dogs accepted the products, mean scores of products attributes were 3.07, 3.46, 3.0 of appearance, color and odor, respectively, 36.6 % of acceptability and 31.7 % of willing to buy.
