The influence of herbicides on the present weeds, as well as wheat properties, have been studied. The trial is performed in Kosovo Polje (Yugoslavia) on wheat varieties "Srbijanka" and "Europe" and 7 herbicides. Weed community in 1993 consisted of 39 species and 16 families, and in 1994 14 species and 9 families. Herbicides appeared to be lightly to moderately temporary phytotoxic and it did not esentially affected wheat kernel qualitative parameters and they can be used successfully for wheat protection with Lontrel 418-C being preferred. Mechanical procedure - weeding brings about longer spike and more spikelets in a spike. Herbicides influence on weed has been studied. Efficiency coefficient has been calculated as well as herbicide phytotoxicity.
