Considering a great importance of a chernozem soil with respect to its quality and distribution in Yugoslavia, it was necessary to test its adsorption capacity which is one of the most important indicators of soil fertility. The paper presents the results of the study of adsorption capacity and content of clay and humus in the soil samples took from a field trial that was subjected to the application of various doses and ratios of mineral fertilizers with no incorporation of harvest residues for over 25 years. The results obtained indicate that various doses and ratios of mineral fertilizers had no significant effect on adsorption capacity of a chernozem soil under existing agroecological conditions.
