Genetic variability of storage and functional proteins of 40 barley cultivars from Novi Sad and Kragujevac breeding centres (Yugoslavia) was studied. The distinctions among cultivars and identification key were based upon the results of hordein and isozyme allelic variability. Thirty four barley cultivars were identified while in two cases the three cultivars in each had the same hordein and enzyme formulas disabling individual identification.
