Prediction of global climate changes and their influence on strategic decisions in the field of water management planning

The study contains the research results of climate change due to intensified "greenhouse effects". The research indicates that on the territory of Yugoslavia all serious deterioration of precipitation regime can be expected. The authors present summary of key results of global research of these processes, particularly those that relate to Yugoslav climate and call the attention to certain exact indices of the fact that disturbance of precipitation regime is already taking place gradually. The conclusion is that it is necessary to take the global climate changes into consideration in making strategic decisions on water management. In future greater regulation of discharge in water reservoirs will be necessary compared to the regulation previously assessed in order to neutralise the worsening effects of water regime.
