Eight varieties of asparagus, all F1 male hybrids, were tested in the Wallis (Switzerland) from 1985 on. After ten years of controls and harvest three turned out to be particularly interesting: Backlim, Boolim, and Geinlim. Their yield in first grade ranges between 0.650 and 0.900 kg per square m. They are more vigourous and homogeneous than the double hybrid or clone hybrid varieties commonly grown. Moreover, they show a better behaviour against Fusarium wilt
