Optimization of the number and utilization of combine harvesters according to the term of harvest

The time of harvest of crops has an influence on the yields and the quality which has effect upon the profit and the utilization of harvest machines. For maximum profit preharvest and harvest losses with regard to the time of harvest of different crops must be considered optimization of numbers and utilization of harvest machines. The longer is the time of harvest, the higher are the losses transformed into losses of market production. That is why in 1994-1995 the research on the influence of the time of harvest of rape, wheat and barley on the yields, the quality and the market production of the final product was carried out. Results of this research were used in a mathematical model that is based on the dynamic programming using modified simplex method. This model is used by a computer programme that schedules crop harvest operations and optimizes numbers and utilization of combine harvesters.
