In three-year trial with cock's foot in pure culture the effect of various kinds of N fertilizers was studied in four-cut use as affected the mineral composition of herbage. The trial consisted of four treatments with uniform fertilization with Ca, Mg and P. The treatment I used ammonium nitrate with limestone (LAV), treatment II contained calcium nitrate (LV), treatment III - urea (MO) and treatment IV - DAM 390. In all treatments a uniform dose of 50 kg N.ha-1 (i.e. 200 kg N.ha-1 annually) was applied to each cut. In LAV fertilized treatment the highest average dry matter yield of herbage was recorded (by 9 % on average). In LV fertilized treatment significantly lower nitrate content was recorded (by 80 % on average), crude protein and nitrogen-energy quotient. P and K content was dependent on amount of rainfall, Ca and Mg content in herbage was in positive correlation with average temperature.
