The influence of phosphate and dolomite on growth and yield of kidney bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) of Lembang

This research has been performed in the Experimental Garden of Lembang Horticultural Research Institute from November 1993 to February 1994. The purpose of this research is to get some phosphate and dolomite dosages appropriately to be able to increase optimally the production of kidney bean. Randomized Block Design with Factorial Pattern was used consisting of the factors: Phosphate fertilizer dosage, fertilizer dosage, and dolomite dosage. The first factor phosphate fertilizer, P1 = 100 kg P2O5/ha, P2 = 150 kg P2O5/ha, P3 = 200 kg P2O5/ha, P4= 250 kg P2O5/ha, and the second factors dolomite dosage consists of 4 stages, D1= 500 kg dolomite/ha, D2 = 750 kg dolomite/ha, D3= 1000 kg dolomite/ha, D4 = 1250 kg dolomite/ha. The result showed that with the increase of the phosphate fertilizing dosage from P1, P2, P3, and P4, it is proven that this can improve the stall of plant, the number of bean, weight of sample bean and bean weight per plot. Fertilizing with the phosphate fertilizer dosage in the stage of 250 kg P2O5/ha is a better stage to this research by yielding of 42.61 g of bean weight. Whereas dolomite fertilizing of 1250 kg/ha did not show a real effect on the stall of plant, the number of bean, sample bean weight and the weight of plotted bean. In addition, there is no interactional effect between phosphate and dolomite fertilizers on the stall of plant, the number of bean, sample bean weight and plotted bean weight
