Effect of number of spray with nutrient solution (Al-Nahrain) on growth and production of potato cv. Estima

An experiment was carried out to study the effect of number of sprays with nutrient solution (Al-Nahrin) on growth and production of potato cv. Estima. Al-Nahrin nutrient solution contains 10 N, 8 P2O5, 6 K2O, and balanced amounts of chelated Fe, Zn, Mn, and Cu at rate of 2 ml/L of water. Plants were sprayed to drip point with either distilled water (50 days), or with nutrient solution, once (50 days), twice (50 and 65 days) or three times (50, 65 and 80 days) after planting. Total number of tubers/plant and number of small size tubers/plant was not affected by spray treatments, whereas, number of stems /plant and large size tubers /plant was significantly reduced as number of sprays with nutrient solution increased.
