Previous research work on gypsiferous soils showed variation and inconsistency in values related to soil physical properties, due to the narrow range of gypsum content of soils used in those investigations. The objective of this research was to investigate the reasons for this inconsistency, and whether there is a critical value or range of values of gypsum content at which the inflection in the physical properties of soil takes place
