In this study, the usefulness of the reverse-rotational rotary tiller was considered, and then the results were compared with the other tillage methods to find the optimum method for good crop growth. Three experimental fields were prepared by the three tillage methods. These are the plow and harrow, the rotary tiller which are customary tillage equipments, and the reverse-rotational rotary (R-R Rotary for short) tiller for the deep tillage. Three kinds of crops; maize, soybeans, radish which have the different root shape wee cultivated. The results were as follows; 1) The yield on the field tilled by the reverse-rotational rotary tiller was more than the yield on the field tilled by the customary tillage methods. It can be considered that the above results occur because a good pylverization of the soil can be obtained with the reverse rotational rotary tiller besides a deep tilling of about 30 cm. 2) On the field tilled by the reverse rotational rotary tiller, the number of weeds was remarkably more
