[Effect of three different soil moisture and two seeding methods on the growth and grain yield wheat]

An experiment was conducted to determine the effect of three different soil moisture regimes and two seeding methods (broadcast and in rows) on the growth and grain yield of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) by analizing several parameters involving the soil-plant-atmosphere water relations. It was observed that water use efficiency was better in row seeding method, moreover althought there were not statistical significant difference, the row seeding was superior to broadcast seeding method for grain yield. Comparing the soil moisture regimes, it was observed that the 30-70-40 percentage of available residual soil moisture at time of irrigation (in vegetative, reproductive, and maturation stages, respectively) favored the maximun growth and grain yield. It was notable, that grain yield was highly correlated with root length per cm3 of soil density and the percentage of light interception by plants. It was also observed that the temperature differences measured by infrared thermometry technique, between canopy and air, could be used to estimate the percentage of available soil moisture.

Se realizo un experimento con cultivo de trigo cuyo objetivo fue el de investigar el efecto de tres regimenes de humedad del suelo y dos metodos de siembra (al voleo y en hileras) sobre el crecimiento y rendimiento de trigo a traves del analisis de algunos parametros del sistema agua-suelo-planta-atmosfera. Se observo que con el metodo de siembra en hileras, se obtuvo mejor eficiencia en el uso de agua, ademas aunque no existio diferencia significativa en el analisis de varianza, este metodo fue mejor con respecto al de voleo en cuanto al rendimiento de grano. En la comparacion entre regimenes de humedad del suelo, se observo que el regimen 30-70-40 en las etapas vegetativa, floracion y maduracion, respectivamente (por ciento de humedad aprovechable residual en el suelo al momento de riego) favorece al crecimiento y rendimiento de grano. Se destaco que el rendimiento de grano tiene alta correlacion con la densidad de raices y el por ciento de luz interceptada por las plantas. Se observo tambien que la diferencia de temperatura entre la cobertura vegetal y el aire medida con el termometro de rayos infrarrojos tiene posibilidad de ser utilizada para la estimacion del por ciento de humedad aprovechable residual del suelo.
