Effect of nitrogen and zinc on vigour, yield and quality of citrus cv. Blood red

Effect of different levels of nitrogen with and without zinc Spray on vigour, yield and quality of citrus cv.Blood Red was studied at model orchard of Fruit and Vegetable Board at Haripur in the year 1989-90. Maximum increase in plant height, plant spread, stem girth fruit size, total yield, fruit weight, acidity % and juice % was found in treatment eight i.e. 4.5 kg ammonium sulphate and 0.098 kg zinc sulphate (dissolved in 20 liters of water) per tree. The high peel and rag % (25.99 and 24.78) was found in Control and treatment five i.e. ammonium sulphate zero and zinc sulphate 0.098 kg/tree. The number of fruit/tree and maximum reducing sugar was found in treatment four (4.5 kg ammonium sulphate). However total sugar was highest in treatment eight, i.e. ammonium sulphate 4.5 kg and zinc sulphate 0.098 kg/tree.
