Chemical control of red pumpkin beetle Aulacophora foveicollis (Lucas) attacking muskmelon crop

Chemical control trials against red pumpkin beetle Aulacophora foveicollis (Lucas) attacking muskmelon crop were conducted at Faculty of Agriculture farm, Gomal University, D.l.Khan. Five insecticides viz., Cropgard, Cypergard, Sunmerin, Stinger and Mavrik were used in three different concentrations i.e 0.1% 0.5% and 1.0%. These insecticides were sprayed three times, at an interval of 15 days. The data were recorded on the basis of number of beetles per plant. The results indicated that cypergard was most effective from all the tested insecticides, followed by cropgard, Sunmerin, Mavrik and Stinger.
