Use of the inbred line Ot1-3 as a source of rye sprouting resistance genes

Sprouting resistance of domestic winter rye cultivars and their hybrids with the line Ot1-3 was estimated on the basis of the analysis of sprouting in ears, germination energy after harvest, failing number and grain sensivity to abscisic acid. The studied traits were significantly correlated which indicates their common genetic background. Hybrids F2 and F3 showed a higher sprouting resistance than their parental cultivars. Sprouting resistant strains of agronomic value were selected in the Bc2 generation
