The virulence of five geographically distant Heterodera avenae populations (from United Kingdom, Germany and Slovakia) are studied. Their effects on oat and spring barley cultivars with different degrees of susceptibility were compared. The importance of the relationships between the cereal cultivars' resistance and parasite pathotypes in Slovakia was also confirmed.
