The linear trends of carcass value traits of bulls on the share of genes of Black Pied Lowland breed

The biometric-genetical analyses of live weight, average daily gains and carcass value traits of the Slovak Spotted breed (S), Black Pied Lowland breed (N) and their two-breed crosses F101, F11, F111, and F1111 generation showed the inclination of meat efficiency of the cross towards the Black Pied Lowland breed in dependence on its genetic proportion. A decrease of dressing percentage by 0.203** (++) % (per 10 % increase of Black Pied breed gene proportion), head weight by 1.740** (++) kg, weight of less valuable cuts by 1.094** (++) kg, and increase of inner fat content by 0.567** (++) kg with insignificant differences in live weight and average daily gains between the evaluated genotypes, were observed. The changes in decreasing percentage were caused mainly by the weight decrease of loin by 0.025++ kg, round by 0.309++ kg, shoulder by 0.110++, low roastbeef by 0.089, chest by 0.043+, and other meat by 0.103 kg per 10 % proportion of N breed genes. Significant deviations from linearity observed in inner fat, shin from hind and forequarters, and total fat suggest non-linear epistatic effects the causality of which it is necessary to study in more detail. However, the linearity of most parameters suggests the additive form of their heredity with regard to the proportion of N breed genes.
