Yield formation in winter barley in connection with basic factors of agrotechniques and agroecological conditions.

Based on the results of different fertilization levels, sowing terms and sowing rates in a corn production area, in evaluation of winter barley yield formation process the biggest share in the reduction from germination failure and from losses over winter was caused by the sowing term, in dependence on agroecological conditions. In the year with a dry September, the October sowing date was more suitable. The plant number in comparison with that of September was higher (after germination and the winter period) by 22.9 to 137.4 %. In the corn production area the sowing rate (where the higher number was achieved by the higher sowing rate) influenced pre-harvest plant number. The influence of fertilization on the plant number reduction process was not significant. The highest average number of shoots (3.8 shoots per plant) was achieved by full nutrient rate (160 kg N+P regardless of the soil nutrient content) in interaction with the September sowing date and sowing rate of 3.5 mi. germinable grains. Yields over 8t per ha were achieved by 420-500 spikes per square meter.
