This paper focuses on the reduction of mastitis in a herd of 201 dairy cows (conventional housing) using combined anti-mastitis procedures and compares the effectivity of intramammary treatment as a main factor reducing intramammary infection. Preventive anti-mastitis methods helped to reduce the occurrence of the disease within the first three months from 43.6 to 37.1 %. In the 4th month, further treatment of all animals excreting the agents of mastitis led to a reduction of the disease rate from 37.1 to 2.0 %. This state was maintained for three months. Later the disease rate increased in consequence of not keeping to the preventive measures and reached 9.8 % in the 9th month. Subsequent treatment reduced the number of diseased animals to 1.0 %. Depending on the infectious agent, the preparations used had the following therapeutic effect: Nafpenzal MC (Intervet, NL) 75 - 100 %, Oxymikoin foam (Galena, Czech Republic) 80.0 - 100.0 %, Nafpenzal DC (Intervet, NL) 88.0 - 100.0 %, and Oxaclen foam (Galena, Czech Republic) 66.7 - 81.9 %. Following the treatments Streptococcus agalactiae could not be diagnosed for the next three months
