In situ bioindication of genotoxic effect using the species of native flora in the vicinity of the nickel plant

In situ bioindication of phytotoxic and genotoxic environmental effects in the surroundings of a nickel plant dump in Sered (Slovakia) was carried out. Out of the twenty studied species a significantly increased frequency of abortion of the pollen grains was confirmed in six species. The expected genotoxic effects in the species Typha latifolia were not proved by tetrade analysis.
