None design pot experiment was carried out in wet season 1991 and dry season 1992 regarding resembling nutrient disorder symptoms found at vegetative growth of rice in studying application of EM in rice cultivation field plot experiment in the previous season. This experiment composed of 12 treatments comparing effects of EM, organic matter and chemical fertilizers on growth of rice grown in soils from Ongkaruk and Saraburi soil series with and without liming. As a result of this study, plants with symptoms can be healthy by applying many treatments. Only phosphate fertilizer was important in increasing plant height, tillering and yield. However, to maximize yield and growth of plants, phosphate and nitrogen as well as organic matter should be added together. Liming only raised soil and water pH but had no effect on symptoms and yield of plants.
