Effect of seeding time and crop seeding density on yield of beans straw

The effect of seeding time and crop seeding density on yield of beans straw was examinated, in agroecological conditions of north Sumadija (Serbia, Yugoslavia). The yield of beans straw directly depends upon meteorological conditions in the year of production. Influence of seeding time and crop density on yield of beans straw was different in some examinated years, but the largest differences in yield were in the dry year 1993. The net energy value of bean straw, compared with straws of barley and corn was lower, but higher in net energy value in wheat and rye straw. The values of content of net energy (OFU, oat feed unit) in beans straw were similar to these in horse bean, soya bean and lentil.
