Thermodynamic investigation of concentrated solar radiation technology for drying process

A thermodynamic investigation of concentrated solar radiation technology for drying process has been conducted. Physical and mathematical models for describing concentrated solar radiation drying and its comparison with nonconcentrated solar radiation drying is developed. Results of performed numerical simulations of drying processes for drying three different materials (corn, potato and grapes) are presented showing the effects of solar radiation concentration on the drying process duration and specific energy consumption as well as its dependence on the drying material properties.
