Tree biomass distribution in the above-ground and below-ground parts of the middle aged pine (Pinus sylvestris L.) stand of vaccinium site type

The present study is a part of an integrated research of nutrient dynamics and biomass production of Scots pine. Biomass distribution in the above-ground and below-ground parts of a 62-yr-old Scots pine stand was investigated. The soil type is podzol, site belongs to Vaccinium type. Of the total above-ground dry biomass 286,5 (t/ha). Percentages of needles and living branches (wood+bark) were 5 and 8 per cent respectively stems were 87 per cent.
