A study was conducted to determine the influence of number of tillage on the growth and yield of barley Hordeum distichum under low rainfed conditions in which two numbers of plowings were practiced: two cultivations and one cultivation during the fallow seasons prior to planting season.The test was done in two seasons 1986/1987 and 1988/1989 during which the amount of precipitation was 207 mm and 253 mm respectively.The experiment was set up according to RCB design and the data were statistically analayzed
