Reports from the International Apiarists' Conference, which took place in the Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture in August 1-4, 1996, are presented in this publication. They are results of scientific research work conducted by the Institute's scientific workers in recent 3-5 years and by scientists from Poland, Slovakia, Russia. Lithuanian scientists introduce bee breeding in Lithuania and Switzerland, bee venom collection technology,, beehive heat losses while wintering, pheromones diffused by queens and they influence on colony development. Scientists-doctors from the Centre of Oncology discuss the opportunities of bee products application for human treatment.
