Cows' udder acute inflammation and its reasons

The given research deals with the control of mastitis in cows to improve milk quality in Latvia. Cows were tested for mastitis on small private farms and in large agricultural enterprises. Acute udder inflammation was detected according to the clinical examination scheme. The isolated pathogenic microorganisms were studied, their sensitivity to different preparations was established by taking milk samples from each quarter of the udder. The samples analyses data are presented in tables. The prophylactic treatment of healthy cows against mastitis as well as the preparations required for ill cows are suggested.
