The Research Institute of Plant Production (RIPP) in Piestany (Slovakia) has been collecting forage crop genetic resources since 1961 when research into alfalfa genetic resources started. Genetic resources of red clover began to be studied and tested in 1966. The table shows forage crop genotypes included into the experiments in 1995 and 1996 (from white clover, red clover, alfalfa, bird's foot trefoil, sainfoin, locoweed and meliloti)
