A long-term investigation of the effects of PK nutrition on permanent grassland revealed that two-seeded leaf plants prevail in the structure of the grassland, Fabaceae species having a portion of 20 to 30 % of the biomass yield. The fodder obtained after PK fertilization contains the required amount of proteins, minerals and fibre material. However, it has a high content of lignin (x=5.6 - 7.3 %) and other phenol compounds affecting the digestibility of organic matter and PDI. Only first-time grasslands users fulfill the required criterion of the IAPN values up to 120. Results of the nutrients determined in vitro should be compared with the values determined in vivo
