Evaluation of registered inland cultivars of beans (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) according to the Upov criteria

Over 1990-1992 8 cultivars of beans (cvs. used for seed production) and 10 cultivars of dwarf French beans (cvs. used for pod production) were evaluated and described according to the UPOV criteria. High dependence of some morphological characteristics on agroecological conditions was confirmed and characteristics were found which had been influenced by those conditions minimally. Biochemical and molecular methods are necessary to identify and distinguish cultivars thoroughly
