Immunohistochemical localization of S-100 protein in the sheep spleen

The presence of S-100 protein was investigated in the spleen of sheep. The positivity for S-100 protein in paraffin-embedded tissue was found by using a polyclonal antibody against whole bovine S-100 protein. The immuno-reactivity for S-100 protein was found in the follicular dendritic cells in germinal centres of the follicles and in the nerve bundles and fine nerve fibres both in white and red pulp of spleen
