Effect of paclobutrazol and nitrogen on yield and yield components of photosensitive rice
1993
Samark Yingyong
Objective of this study was to use Paclobutrazol with nitrogen fertilizer to improve the method used for planting photosensitive rice varieties. Khao Dawk Mali 105 and Khao Tah Hang 17 were used as main plot; nitrogen rates at 0, 6 and 12 Kg/rai, as subplot; in the split - split - plot of RCB with 4 replications. The results revealed that decreasing in plant height of the 2 varieties was positively correlated with the rate of increasing in Paclobutrazol concentration. The grain yields of the 2 varieties at 0 and 6 kg/rai of nitrogen with all rates of Paclobutrazol were not significantly different. At the nitrogen rate of 12 kg/rai, the grain yields of both varieties at 25 and 50 g.ai/rai of Paclobutrazol were not significantly different from each other, but the grain yields of Khao Dawk Mali 105 at both rates, 25 and 50 g.ai/rai of Paclobutrazol, whereas only the grain of Kho Tah Hang 17 at 25 g.ai/rai of Paclobutrazol was significantly different from its yield at 0 g.ai/rai of Paclobutrazol.
