Isozymes as genetic markers were used for identification and determination of variability between 53 inbred lines originating from domestic Yugoslav populations (94OR). Given genotypes were analysed in the stage of seedlings, on the basis of loci and their alleles the product of which are the variants of isozyme. The polymorphism of 10 loci, with one being monomorphic, and frequency of the allleles for polymorphic loci were very different. Thus the rare alleles appeared in 1-2 lines, and the frequent ones such as Pgd2-5. Idh1-4 were found in the most of the analysed lines. The frequency of the found alleles in the analysed lines ranged from 1.9 to 98.1 and on the basis of that genetic similarity i.e. distance between genotypes was determined, which in one of the basic prerequisite for their combining ability and heterosis. Markers were the indicator of genetic diversity between material originating from certain group of domestic Yugoslav populations and their combining ability.
