This is a survey of the compounds devised over the past ten years. The following insecticide and acaricide groups and classes are given: phenoxybenzyl ethers; benzoylphenylureas; thioureas; arylpyroles; pyrazoles; oxazolines; arylthiazoles; carbamoyltriazoles; chlorpyridyls; pyradazinones; quinazolines; triazines; trazinones; oxadiazines; thiadiazinones; tetrazines; azadirachtin; spinosines; juvenile hormone agonists; juvenile hormone antagonists; ecdysone agonists; ecdysone antagonists and other nowel insecticides and acaricides. Depending on the research conducted so far and the available data the following has been included in the survey for each of the compound groups cited: general structure and compound structure; physical and chemical properties; physical behaviour, abiotic degradation and metabolism; penetration and translocation in plants; mode action; spectrum of biological action and application; resistance; toxicity and hazard to predators and parasitoides, bees, aquatic organisms and soil microfauna; and toxicity to birds and mammals.
