The K/Mg ratio in grapevine organs grown on different soil types

The present paper deals with the problem of grapevine nutrition with K and Mg. The results were obtained from an experiment under glasshouse conditions with the Vranac grapevine variety. Vines were grown in pots with different soils (chernozem, cambisol, sandy soil). The K/Mg concentration ratio was determined in soils and vine organs (root, stem, shoots, leaves). Concentration of nutrients in organs (K and Mg) was not proportional to their available content in soil. The greatest influence on total mineral content of vines was exerted by their considerable reserves in grafts. Only the K/Mg ratio in leaves was significant and useful for evaluation of the nutritional status of vines with respect to these elements.
