The neurotoxin content and grain yield of grasspea varieties can differ in different environments making it difficult to identify the performance of individual varieties and complicating plant breeding in general and grasspea breeding in particular. Nevertheless, the varieties retained in the breeding program are those with low mean neurotoxin content. In this study, 10 grass pea varieties were tested at Adet, Woreta and Bichena in 1994 and 1995 cropping seasons in order to see the effect of genotype and environment interaction on neurotoxin content and grain yield of the varieties. The result indicated there were highly significant genotype x environment interaction for both neurotoxin content and grain yield indicating that recommendations of varieties that are low in narration and high grain yield should be made based on climatic and edifice conditions pecific adaptation.
