Determination of inter- and inter-row spacing for taro (Colocasia esculentia) tuber at Jima
1997
Edosa Etisa | Zenebe Woldu | Abate Guangule (Jima Research Center (Ethiopia))
Trials were conducted at Jima Research Center to determine the inter- and intar-row spacing requirement of taro for mazimum tuber yield for five seasons (1989-1994). Five different levels of each inter-and intar-row spacings were combined factorially in randomized complete block design with four replications. Both between-row and between plant spacings had significant (p0.05) effect on tuber yield. the highest yield of 788.9 q/ha was obtained from the 70 cm x 30 cm spacing 47619 plants per ha).
