In order to clarify the diagnostics and the classification of meadow-boggy soils with organic matter content, soil characteristics as micromorphological description, humus composition, optical properties of the humic acids (E4:E6), CEC, COLE, LE and bulk density and water retention (at 1/3 bar, and 15 bar suction and ovendryness), are determined in addition to the routine soil characteristics (texture, pH, organic matter and CaCO3 content).
