[Minimum content of air needed for plants which grow on podzol lightloamy soils of Belarus]
1999
Afanasev, N.I. (Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Minsk (Belarus))
It is known that minimum content of air in soil is 10-15 %. Different indices of minimum air content in soil for various agricultural plants have been revealed. Podzol soils of Belarus are good provided by air even when moisture is equal to field moisture and equal weight of density. The air content that limits the yield of agricultural plants on podzol soils is minimum if precipitation is plentful and soil is too much packed by tractors working on too much moistured soil
