Breeding value of Estonian Holstein bulls depending on pedigree

In breeding of the Estonian Holsteins 278 bulls, born in 1979...1993, with entirely different descendance and Holstein blood content have been used. Two analyses were carried out to compare the bulls on the basis of their progeny testing results. It became evident that most of the milk performance data (except milk protein content) increased due to higher percentage of Holstein blood, whereas there was no change in the fat content of milk. Harmful effect of the heterogenity of bulls' genotype was observed
