[Connections of soil erosion on hilly relief of Lithuania's uplands and possibilities of common measures for soil conservation]

According to 12 years' field experiments carried out in Kaltinenai Research Station of Lithuanian Institute of Agriculture was established that only perennial grasses completely stopped lossesof soil through water erosion. The erosion-preventive grass-grain crop rotations reduced losses of soil on arable slopes by 46.8-80.8, while grain-grass crop rotation - by 21.5-24.4 in comparison with the losses of soil in the field crop rotation.
