This study dealt with the transplantation and culture of green mussel Perna viridis in Taklong Island, Guimaras [Philippines] taken from Sapian Bay, Capiz. Culture rafts were situated at the U.P. channel where green mussels were cultured at different stocking densities. There were mass mortalities due to crab predation and typhoon destruction. Survival rates were low. A regression analysis was made on length and weight of the cultured mussels. An equation was generated as W=aLB, where b= 1.874. The b value is low indicating that there was no isometric growth between length and weight. Gross anatomical analysis revealed that there was no gonadal maturation but rather there was thinning out of the mussel fish which was possibly caused by re-absorption of the gonads upon transplantation. The consistently high salinity did not favorably result in further somatic growth of mussel. Results reveal that culture of green mussel in Taklong Island, Guimaras is not feasible. The oceanographic data were all in optimum levels, indicating a stable environment
