Characteristics of atmospheric precipitation of the vegetation period in the Lublin-Upland (1951-95)

An average sum of atmospheric precipitation of the vegetation period in the Lublin-Upland amounts to 398,8 mm with an average number of days with precipitation being 79,9. Sums of precipitation varied from 39,1 mm (April) to 73,6 mm (July), number of days with precipitation from 9,8 (October) to 12,8 (May). Water requirements of 6 species of cultivated plants were satisfied in 74,8 percent (red clover) to 89,9 percent (potatoes). In the years 1984-95 a series of precipitation deficiences were noticed in May (in respect of grain) and July (in respect of potato)
